Seven years ago Anne Elliot fell in love with Frederick Wentworth, but she was persuaded by a family friend that he wasn't a satisfactory match. Therefore they were estranged which meant the ruin of the prospects for love and squandering away an auspicious future. Now seven years later Anne is still alone. Because she is more knowledgeable and discerning, the story presents a confidential and dignified tale of love rekindled long after such fulfillment seems futile. Anne is now living with her married sister, Mrs. Muskgrove, while her own house is being rented to Wentworth's sister and her husband. Wentworth is now a Captain in the Navy. He has made his fortune, and while visiting his sister he runs into Anne. Though still angry with her, Wentworth isn't unmindful of her presence. At the seaside resort of Bath there is an inspiring and tender reunion when Wentworth writes Anne a letter announcing his love for her. Earlier in their lives love had made everything seem certain, but their falling apart into estrangement was a great confusing separation. This new wiser romance compensates the wrong beginning with a surprisingly satisfying result. Please Note: This book is easy to read in true text, not scanned images that can sometimes be difficult to decipher.
