This collection of 69 poems manifests the poet James O. Belcher's visionary poetry, in which surreal imagery, along with narration and dialogue that are alternately prosaic and dynamic, recount selected events in the life of the protagonist. Imagery and occasion predominate. Mr. Belcher was awarded a Fellowship by the Ohio Arts Council in 1986 for this collection of poems, and a second grant-in-aid to provide for publication of the book.
