Edition Notes

The Revelations, originally written in Swedish, were translated into Latin by one of the Saint's confessors. This Middle English version, written before 1475, contains selections which follow the Latin closely, though rearranged. The introduction includes John Awdelay's Salutation to St. Birgitta (p. xxxi-xxxvii) printed from Bodl. mss. Douce 302.

Originally submitted with changes as editor's doctoral dissertation, Princeton University, 1925.
