Largely based on Stow's 'Survey of London', but considerably augmented and updated.

Issued in parts.

Titlepages are printed in red and black.

Vol.1 is dated 1734 but has an additional titlepage dated 1733; vol.2 is dated 1735 and contains a list of subscribers.

A variant has the dedication to the king in vol.1 signed 'James Read', instead of asterisks.
