Half-title.

Though the "Chronological list of the portraits," pages [6-7], lists 52 portraits, there are only 51 plates, portrait 11, Margaret Tudor, and portrait 12, John Duke of Albany, appearing on the same plate.

Plates engraved and stipple-engraved portraits by Edward Harding, Birrell, Bawtree, P. Roberts, and I.J. van den Burghe after George Jamesone, Henry, Earl of Buchan, Sebastian Furck, and Peter Oliver the younger.

Plates with imprints for Isaac Herbert dated 1797 and 1798 (he was declared a bankrupt 10 November 1798) and for Edward Harding dated 1798 and 1799.

Quarto format.

Watermarks: "1799"; "Lepard 1794."

With woodcut tail-pieces.
