Edition Notes

The first seven chapters of Van Dyke's "The desert," 1901 edition, are digitally printed onto handmade bleached abaca paper. Blue thread is stitched in a zigzag pattern over most lines of text. Brief phrases and all side notes remain legible. Wrapped in a white cloth with blue stitching.

"The edition comprises 40 signed and numbered books, 30 of which are bound in abaca, 10 of which are bound in vellum"--Colophon.

LC has copy no. 25, bound in paper.
