This revised edition of Jesus in the Qur’an is simply Chapter Eleven of the revised and expanded edition of Jesus, Prophet of Islam by Muhammad Ata’ur-Rahim and Ahmad Thomson – but with one significant exception: whereas the translations into English of passages from the Qur’an in the first and revised editions of Jesus, Prophet of Islam were based on the translation of Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall, alayhi rahma, the translations into English of passages from the Qur’an in this revised edition are taken (with the translators’ generous permission) from The Noble Qur’an – a New Rendering of its Meaning in English by Shaykh Abdalhaqq and Aisha Bewley, as well as the definitions from their Glossaries of Terms and Proper Names which are to be found in the Glossary at the end of this book.
