This is a audio, and read along book, it is presented by Pac-Man {the introduction}, and the story by a narrator. The book begins with a reinterpretation of the Pac-Man arcade game theme music. {This version of the music seems to have been first released on the "Pac-Man: The Album" from 1980, also by Kid Stuff. The story was accompanied by black and white illustrations, of the story. The book either came with a 7" vinyl record KSR-997, or a cassette tape KSC-88997, while the book has the record's number on it, whether it came with the tape or not. The book tape and record also have the copyright year listed as 1980. Side A. The book begins with the voice of Pac-Man telling the reader about how to read along, with the narrator, and when to turn the page. The rest of the book, is read by the narrator. The story explanis that the ghosts, named Shadow, Bashful, Speedy, and Pokey, are "supposedly" out of town. Pac-Man goes to the Playland amusement park in Pacville, and rides the Pacville Express minature train. The ghost then arrive at the Amusment park, and start to go after Pac-Man. The story then continues on side B, Pac-Man rides a merry-go-round, and he the ghosts get dizzy and fall off. {There is no mention of Ms. Pac-Man as indicated on the book's cover, but if the copyright of the book is correct this was released 2 years before she would be created, however this is probably just the copyright of the first Pac-Man game, that is Copyright/Trademarked, and the book/audio could have been produced much later.} He then goes on a boat ride, the ghosts follow but get sea sick. The ghosts then eat too much and get slowed down. Pac-Man then goes into the fun house, he thengets out, while the ghosts get lostr and get stuckinside the maze. Pac-Man then goes home and is seen in bed. The entire story is about 7 mintes, and 30 seconds in length. The audio cassette tape version originally came on a cardboard backing, which also folded around the tape and into the book, it was sealed with plastic wrap.

This book is part of the Kid Stuff Records/Golden Books video game audio stories series.
