Following the first 2 annual reports (January and December 1866), the Northern Counties' Asylum for Idiots and Imbeciles was called the Royal Albert Asylum.

Shuttleworth), extracts from "Blighted lives; or, Among the imbeciles," by a Sheffield Lady (Sheffield and Rotherham Independent, March 24, 1884), a list of clergymen and ministers, presents received, census of idiots and imbeciles and a list of places that inmates came from.
