Following the first 2 annual reports (January and December 1866), the Northern Counties' Asylum for Idiots and Imbeciles was called the Royal Albert Asylum.

Shuttleworth), extracts from speeches, list of clergymen and ministers, presents received, census of idiots and imbeciles a list of places that inmates came from and a short article about Brunton House, Scotforth, Lancaster - the asylum's home for "special private pupils", illustrated with 2 views.
