Cataloged 2015 jmoschella

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in early calf panelled in double-ruled blind. The spine is ruled in blind with the title stamped in gilt onto a red leather label. Laid-onto the front pastedown and free endpaper are numerous ca. 20th-century clippings and one dealer's description. An engraved portrait of the author is bound-in opposite the title page. The original [A]1 is wanting. The autograph of Edward Stokes ("Edward Stokes his booke anno Dom 1633") is present on the title page. The author's name, on the title page and epistle dedicatory, is struck-out in early iron gall ink.
