On behalf of the Executive Committee of the American and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society, Lewis Tappan writes to appoint Amos A. Phelps Corresponding Secretary of the society, with the understanding that Phelps is also the editor of the ́Reporter.́ Tappan then talks about the necessity to publish a ́Reporteŕ immediately, and gives more information about the editorship of the paper.
