Constitutes the first part of Theodor de Bry's Small voyages, printed in 13 parts and an Appendix in Frankfurt am Main and Oppenheim from 1597 to 1633.
This work has been identified as the second Latin edition of part one of the Small voyages by Church.
Translation of: Relatione del reame di Congo e delle circonvicine contrade / by Filippo Pigafetta, first printed Rome 1591.
Contains the relation of the visit of Odoardo Lopez, a Portuguese, to the Congo in the year 1578. It was written by Filippo Pigafetta, from the dictation of Lopez. The Latin translation, here used, is the work of Cassiodore de Reyna. Cf. Church.
"Icones ad primam partem Indiae Orientalis quibus ad maiorem lectoris recreationem primvs Lvsitanorvm cvm rege congressvs, incolarvm arma et instrvmenta bellica, vestes tam faemineae quam virilis, & aliquorum animalium formae, quasi as viuum proponuntur.
