Mrs. Emma Michell explains that the ferns in the portfolios (for the bazaar) were gathered "in Sir Fowell Buxton's favorite retreat from the cares and toils that overwhelmed him in fighting the battle of slavery." Mrs. Michell wants to know how this item and the leather work sell at the anti-slavery fair.
