Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

James Miller M'Kim has just returned from Chicago and Detroit. He was "off on an errand of duty." Staying at home and calling on the Westons would have been much more agreeable. M'Kim encloses the last number of the Freedman, which contains a letter from him giving "a glimpse of my experience on a recent visit among the old anti-slavery folks of Phil[adelphi]a."
