Edition Notes
Holograph, signed.
Jane Wigham says that three boxes have been dispatched for the anti-slavery bazaar, and she tells where the contents came from. The exhibition of the contributions had more visitors than any previous one: "hundreds came each of the two days we had them displayed." This exhibition conflicted with the New Christian Association's anti-slavery bazaar and was blamed for the latter's small success. Charles Sumner visited Professor Nichols and his family at the Glasgow Observatory. Jane Wigham describes the numerous items contributed and comments on the contributors.
