Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Andrew Paton is writing this letter for his sister, who is too occupied with packing the boxes for the Boston anti-slavery fair and doesn't have a spare moment. Two boxes containing goods valued at some 150 pounds will go by steamship on November 19th. A small box will probably follow on December 5th. Andrew Paton asks Maria Weston Chapman to inform Miss Paton on how the articles sell.

Presumably enclosed with this letter was a list of articles sent to the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society by the Glasgow Female Anti-Slavery Society. The list was written by Andrew Paton and dated Nov. 15, 1845. See Call No. Ms.A.9.2 v.21, p.100.
