Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

Edmund Jackson explains why he agreed to William Lloyd Garrison's motion to give $4200 of the Francis Jackson legacy to the National Anti-Slavery Standard. He says that he was trying to arrive at a compromise agreement between opposing factions of the Board of Trustees. He doesn't think that the court had any right to rule on the disposition of the Francis Jackson legacy.
