How to make Paftils of feveral colours
Take the Colour that you intend to make your Paftil, and grind it dry, or rather only bruife it fomewhat fine; to your Colour )whatever it be) add a reafonable quantity of Plaifter of Paris burnt and finely fifted, mix and incorporate the Colour and Plaifter together with fair Water till it be ftiff like Clay or Dough.

Sect. VI. Of Pencils, and how to chufe them
You are in the next place to furnifh your felf with pencils of all forts; which how to chufe do thus, take a pencil and put the hairy end between your lips, being moift, two or three times; fo that the Pencil being large will come to a point as fmall as a hair.
