Edition Notes
Added engraved t.p., reading: Bibliotheca Hungarica Francisci Comitis Széchényi. In Czenk, Comitatus Soproniensis oppido.
Catalog prepared by Michael Denis, whose name appears in preface.
Gróf Széchényi's library was presented to the Hungarian nation in 1802, forming the nucleus of the Országos Széchényi Könyvtár. This catalog remained in use after 1802, being supplemented by additional volumes and indexes published 1803-1807.
Called "tomus I" in anticipation of a catalog of gróf Széchényi's numismatic collection and of a catalog of his manuscript collection. These were published in 1807 and 1814-1815, respectively. Cf. BM (2nd ed.), v. 233, column 972.
Vol. 1: [2], XVI, 695, [1] p.; v. 2: 612 p.
With errata leaf at end of each volume.
