Dedication signed by the author, Claude François Menestrier
Etched t.p. vignette (monogram). Engraved coat of arms at head of dedication to the comte de St. Paul; it is signed: Auroux. Except for the last two, each of the 23 chapters opens with an etched or engraved head-piece depicting a spectacle (repeats). The text of these chapters begins with an etched or engraved historiated initial. Some of the head-pieces are signed: Derbage. Two initials are signed: n.g. The head-piece on p. [181] is a cancel. Most chapters end with a woodcut tail-piece depicting the French royal crown with crossed sceptres
Signatures: [par.] ²[par.]² A-B C(C3+'C3') D-3D (Ee2, Yy2 missigned Dd2, Xx2)

Centered on front pastedown is bookplate of P. Guiraudus, now partly mutilated
