"Zwei Fragmente aus dem Festspiel 'Das Zeichen' komponiert von Willem de Haan": pages 69-76
In dark blue publisher'd cloth with gilt tooled front cover
"Itself a highly stylish and elaborately illustrated example of late Jugendstil design and decoration, the book documents the multifarious activities of the Darmstädter Künstler-Kolonie in the fields of architecture, painting and sculpture, furniture, textiles, lighting fixtures, tableware, metal-work, the sumptuary arts, and other aspects of craft and decoration--all of which were put on display in 1901, when for about six months the colony opened its doors to the general public. The work contains hundreds of documentary photographs of interiors and individual objects. Of particular interest are the borders and vignettes designed for the book by Peter Behrens, some of which are printed in colors"--German art historians / Ars Libri Ltd
