The Jesuit author responds to Queen Elizabeth's edict of 1591, entitled A declaration of great troubles pretended against the realme by a number of seminarie priests and Jesuists, sent, and very secretly dispersed in the same, to worke great treasons under a false pretence of religion, which banned the saying of the Catholic mass
Also includes references to Sir Francis Drake, Sir Richard Grenville, and Sir Walter Raleigh
