Many things wrong
I'm at a loss to understand this book. Almost every place is located incorrectly compared to known coordinates. Almost every place is interpreted wrongly either by the English translators or by Alexander Cunningham who is quoted extensively in this book.
The original author wrote this as a reference manual. It was meant to guide future conquests or trade opportunities. I don't think they would make fundamental errors as placing a river on the wrong side of a country. Or ignoring the largest and 2nd largest rivers of India. Ganga is described as a puddle and there is no mention of Godavari at all.
Massive rivers don't get formed overnight.
The author isn't wrong for reasons mentioned above.
I fear the Greek Rosetta Stone is broken. Alexander Cunningham is a liar.
