Edition Notes
First Lyon Badius edition; third edition with these woodcuts and last edition to include them all. The blocks were cut for Grüninger's 1502 edition of Virgil, the first illustrated Virgil. The identity of the woodcut artist is unknown but is referred to as the Master of the Grüninger Press; the woodcut creation was supervised by Sebastian Brant, who is sometimes considered the illustrator.
This is the second Badius edition, the first printed in Paris (1500-1501) by Thielman Kerver for Jean Petit and Jean de Coblenz.
