Accompanying ill. brochure contains a note on the reduction linoleum cut image making process.

"Each of these four books is printed from seven carved linoleum blocks onto multiple sheets of paper. The sheets subsequently are attached to each other and folded to created seven accordion openings that together form a panorama"--Brochure.

"Four months/four seasons is the first in a series on the seasons by various artists. The papers are noted for each book and in addition cover and slipcase papers are Barcham Green DeWint for October with specially made papers by Katie MacGregor of Whiting, Maine, for April and July. The wooden slipcases were made of baltic birch and poplar by Mario Messina in Lyndonville, Vermont. One hundred and ten copies have the four volumes in the wooden slipcase with forty issued individually."--Inside cover flap of accompanying brochure.

Fourteen copies originally issued with accompanying box containing eleven color printed sheets within clear plastic folder, "Note on the image making process" (1 sheet ; 20 x 35, folded to 20 x 23 cm.) containing description of the complete set, and carved linoleum block used for printing.

"Note on the image making process" printed in both accompanying brochure accompanying the 4 vol. set, and in sheet inserted in box.

April and July include specially made papers by Katie MacGregor.

Each v. in a paper slipcase; the set of 4 v. contained within a wooden slipcase made of baltic birch and poplar by Mario Messina.

LC copy is unnumbered, inscribed to the Library of Congress by the artist.
