The principal text in Columbus's Carta of Feb. 18, 1493 (written onboard ship on that date but incorrectly dated in the printed ed. used here Feb. 15, 1493) with a postscript written at Lisbon Mar. 4, 1493 (incorrectly dated in the same printed ed. Mar. 14, 1493) That text is present in a full-color facsimile of the 1493 Barcelona ed. printed by Pedro Posa, a resetting in modern type, and a translation into English.
"This edition ... consists of one hundred and sixty-five copies numbered 1 to 165 and a suite of fifteen artist's proof copies numbered I to XV"--Colophon.
Printed on 16 bifolia, laid loose in board covers, in a wooden box.
