A book written mainly for "teenage" boys in Great Britain describing adventures in the Northwest Territory of Canada in the early 19th century. It involves river travelk by canoe, fur trapping, hunting, and interaction with people of the setllements of the t ime and the Native American (First Nation is the term in Canada) populations. Very much like the writtings of Robert Michael Ballantyne in its style and content.
