Reissue, under cancel title page, of: The children's friend. Translated from the French of M. Berquin. Vol. III. Newburyport: John Mycall for William P. Blake, 1793?; Vol. IV. Boston: Thomas Hall for William P. Blake, 1795 (not in Evans; Welch 71.7).
Date of reissue suggested by typography of title page and style of binding. The printer of the intaglio frontispiece plate was active in Philadelphia from 1833 to 1844.
Signatures: A⁶ (-+A1) B-U⁶ W⁶ X-Y⁶; A⁶(-A1) B-U⁶ W⁶ X-2D⁶ 2E⁴ (2E4 verso blank).
Errors in paging: p. 233, first count, misnumbered 235; p. 97, 205, 305, 2nd count, misnumbered 95, 105, 285.
In purple cloth: covers ornamented in blind; title stamped in gilt on spine.
