Arnold van Gennep

[Français] Arnold van Gennep (* 1873 à Ludwigsburg, † 1957 à Bourg-la-Reine) est un anthropologue français. Selon l'étude des peuples non-européens, il se consacre particulièrement à l'ethnographie de la France. Il est surtout connu pour ses travaux sur les « rites de passage ».

[Deutsch] Arnold van Gennep (* 1873 in Ludwigsburg; † 1957 in Bourg-la-Reine) war ein französischer Ethnologe. Nach der Erforschung der außereuropäischen Völker widmete er sich besonders der Ethnographie Frankreichs. Er ist vor allem durch seine Arbeit über die sogenannten „Übergangsriten“ bekannt.

[English] Arnold van Gennep (* 1873 in Ludwigsburg, † 1957 in Bourg-la-Reine) was a French anthropologist. After studying the non-European peoples, he devoted himself particularly to the ethnography of France. He is best known for his work on the so-called “rites of passage”.
